Serengeti National Park

Endless plains and the great migration

What it's like

The Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of open plains, kopjes and riverine woodland. It is famous for the great migration, in which large herds of wildebeest and zebra move through the wider ecosystem in search of grazing.

Where the herds are depends on rainfall and changes through the year, so we plan Serengeti routes around your dates rather than promising a particular scene.

Things to do

  • Multi-day game drives across different regions of the park
  • Following seasonal wildlife movements, where conditions allow
  • Photography at first and last light

Planning notes

Travel considerations

  • Reaching the Serengeti usually takes a long drive or a light-aircraft flight; options and timings will be confirmed in your proposal.
  • Migration timing varies each year; sightings are never guaranteed.

Seasons

Herd locations shift through the year with the rains. Tell us when you hope to travel and we will explain the likely options honestly.

Draft guidance — access rules, fees and seasonal details are confirmed in your proposal.
